Long time no see!

Welcome back to my world race blog. If you’re here, you probably heard that I am going back on the field. And the rumors are true! But more on that later…

It’s been quite a while since I’ve given a good update on my life, and if you follow me on social media you know I haven’t been the best there either. Life since Central America has looked crazy different and crazy busy. I just finished two semesters of 18 credits of college classes, leading a small group of eighth grade girls, nannying for two different families, pursuing friendships, and growing immensely as a follower of Jesus. I am still studying the Bible and Intercultural Ministry at Colorado Christian University with hopes of moving overseas long term sometime after college. If anything, living in Central America confirmed my love for other cultures and my desire to bring the message of Jesus to people who have never heard His name. Longing to be overseas does not make it easy to be state-side drowning in homework, but I fully trust that this season of learning is preparing me for what is to come. After all, I truly have no idea where the Lord will lead me five years from now!

Dealing with this longing is almost funny knowing where I desire to be and not being there, but little snippets of life overseas along the way have reminded me of the call and kept me faithful in the “now.” That being said, I’ll be getting another snippet of life outside the USA this summer. After a full year in the States, I will be heading back to Georgia at the end of May for training and will launch to AFRICA in early June.*

**Yes, the Lord has been gracious to finally send me to the locations I was originally supposed to go to on my nine month gap year. What a sweet full circle 🙂

I will be leading a small group of college-aged participants to Eswatini and Jefferey’s Bay, South Africa for a total of two months (June and July). While my main focus on the field is the participants, each place my squad will live has a specific focus. In June we will live at an Adventures in Missions base in Eswatini focusing on children’s ministry, sports ministry, and community development. Our time in Jefferey’s Bay in July will be in partnership with Global Leadership Academy with a focus on community outreach and development of their school.

In all honesty, I am just really excited to take a leadership position with AIM and experience a new culture all over again. I am excited to see what God is going to do in the lives of the people we encounter and in each of the participants. I know first-hand how much transformation can happen on a trip like this, and fully trust that the Lord has lots in store for all of us.

As with any venture overseas, I ask for your prayerful support of myself and my squad.  Pray that God is preparing the hearts of people we will encounter now to receive the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray for the students I will be leading and their relationships with the Lord. Pray for safety and guidance from the Holy Spirit. I would love your prayerful support in these areas and others that you and the Spirit see fit as this next season begins.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading, supporting, praying, and staying updated with this crazy journey God has taken me on since my senior year of high school.

Dios le bendiga,

Coryn Zurcher
